Leased Lines
In the past, many businesses have built their networks using leased line type links (or private circuits) between sites. Leased lines were used to interconnect PBX and other equipment as they presented a dedicated private circuit between the locations. Private circuits are expensive due to the dedicated nature of the circuit, but some equipment still requires this type of circuit.
